YourLifeInSeconds ("we", "us") operates the website yourlifeinseconds.com. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Life Clock inputs (birth date, country, gender): processed in your browser. So the site can welcome you back, they are saved in your browser's local storage on this device only. They are never sent to or stored on our servers. You can erase them anytime with “Forget my birthdate” on the home page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. If you choose to create a share link or share image, your birth date, country and gender are encoded in that link so the person you share it with can see your clock.
- Milestone reminders: only if you ask us to email you about a milestone. We keep your email address on a separate “Milestone Reminders” list with our email provider, Resend, and send the reminder you asked for. That list is never used for our newsletter. To be removed, reply to any reminder email.
- Email address: only if you subscribe to our newsletter. We use it to send the newsletter you signed up for.
- Analytics data: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. This includes page views, clicks on buttons and links, calculator usage, approximate location (country and region), device type, and browser. This data is aggregated and used to improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies only if you accept them in the consent banner. If you decline, we collect basic cookieless pings with no identifiers.
- Payment information: if you purchase a report, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
How we use it
We use the information above only to provide the service you requested (sending the newsletter, delivering a report, operating the site). We do not sell or rent personal information.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics 4: site analytics. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses Analytics data. You can opt out at any time using our cookie banner, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Resend: email delivery for newsletter subscribers and milestone reminders.
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Vercel: hosting.
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy.
Cookies and tracking
We use a minimal set of cookies. Functional cookies (for remembering your consent choice) are always set. Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept in the consent banner that appears on your first visit. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's site data for yourlifeinseconds.com. The banner will appear again on your next visit.
We honor the browser's Do Not Track signal where available. We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or to build cross-site profiles.
Your rights
You may unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message, or by contacting hello@yourlifeinseconds.com. You can request deletion of your email from our list at the same address.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
