FAMILY MUSIC GAME · FREE TO PLAY

Cassette Tape.

Everyone has a song. Pick one, defend it in thirty seconds, and build a family mixtape across three generations. The kids learn what music was before streaming. The grandparents learn what the kids are actually listening to.

TRACK 1 OF 30

30 TRACKS · 30 SECONDS EACH · 3 OR MORE PLAYERS

The card names a kind of song. You pick one — out loud — and defend it for thirty seconds. Then the table votes: skip it, or add it to the family mixtape.

SIDE A

The song you're a little embarrassed you still love.

SIDE B

The song that reminds you of someone who's gone.

BONUS

The song your parent played until you hated it — then loved.

HOW IT WORKS

A prompt. A song. Thirty seconds to make your case.

01

Flip the tape

Tap the card. A prompt appears — a kind of song, not a specific one. Everyone's answer is different.

02

Defend your song

Name it out loud. Thirty seconds to say why it matters — the moment, the person, the year it belongs to.

03

Build the mixtape

The table votes it onto the family playlist or skips it. Add the winners to a shared playlist as you go.

Best played on road trips, holidays, and any night with a speaker in the room.

WHY THIS GAME EXISTS

Your parents had a soundtrack before you existed. So did you, before your kids existed. Most of those songs never get passed down — they just fade out with the people who loved them.

Cassette Tape is built to pass them down. The prompts pull a grandparent into defending a song a teenager has never heard, and pull the teenager into making the whole table listen to something new. Nobody's taste is wrong. Everybody gets a turn at the speaker.

The thirty seconds keeps it moving. The mixtape is what you keep. Save the songs your family defended — that's a record of who everyone was, in the years before you were all in the same room.
