How do you play Cassette Tape?

Gather three or more players. Tap 'Flip the tape' for a song prompt. A player names a real song that fits, then has 30 seconds to defend why it matters. When time's up, the table votes the song onto the family mixtape or skips it. Then pass to the next player.

Is Cassette Tape free?

What makes it a good game for mixed-age families?

The Bonus Track tier is built for it. Prompts push a grandparent to defend a song from before a teenager was born, and push the teenager to make the oldest person at the table listen to something new. Everyone learns what the others actually listen to.

Do we need to play the songs out loud?

You don't have to, but it's better if you do. Keep a phone with a speaker handy and play a few seconds of each defended song. The game works as pure conversation too — the prompt and the 30-second defense are the core.
